What controls you: money or God? Your answer to that question reveals what you’re cuffed to. This week, Pastor Mike teaches us how cash is important to life, but it cannot be the center of it. The only thing that can provide us with a truly fulfilling life is Jesus, and finances are always something He calls us to use to build His Kingdom.   • We can’t be cuffed to God because we are cuffed to other things
  • We’re challenging things that have become idols in our lives
  • As long as the idols are going good, we don’t think we need God.
  • It’s a process of shedding the things that we think love us but don’t love us back
  • Many of us are being controlled by something we don’t even think is connected
  • What are the things in your life that have control without an obvious connection?
  • Nothing wrong with cash, but when it becomes the driving force in life it becomes a problem because it never has the ability to fulfill.
  • Money doesn’t make you. It magnifies you.
  • Money works for me. I don’t work for money.
  • I don’t work for money. I work for purpose. I’m going toward what God wants for me.
  • Matthew 6:24 – You cannot serve God and have money as your God.
  • Money shouldn’t be your focus. It should be your fruit
  • Luke 16:10-13 – He’s watching what you have to do with what’s in your hand.
  • Somewhere we replaced needing God with needing money
  • Matthew 6:33 – seek first the kingdom of God
  • Start focusing on being a blessing
  • You never reap if you did not sow
  • How kingdom cash works: The blessing was provided by someone’s work but it was received by grace. They were then trusted to be a blessing to someone else.
  • We have to make room because the blessing has gotten too big.
  • To understand how of kingdom works you have to uncuff from cash
  • Mark 10: 17-27 – Rich young ruler
  • At some point your seek can’t just stay a seek. At some point you can’t just go after God, you have to do something he asks you to do
  • If your seek doesn’t turn in to sacrifice, it won’t turn into a blessing from God.
  • He said Sacrifice and then sow it.
  • He was trying to get him to be uncuffed or broken from the thing that gave him significance.
  • You want to uncuff from cash, you have to give it.
  • Tithing 1st level, 2nd level offerings and 3rd level is sacrificial offering
  • Generosity is the number one way that people become more like God.
